Justice Salami In The Eyes Of History...

“The future will have no pity for those men who possessing the exceptional privilege of being able to speak words of the truth to the oppressors, have taken refuge in an attitude of passivity, of mute indifference and sometimes of cold complicity”

-FRANTZ FANON
It is with this above quoted declaration in mind that I write to congratulate a Soldier of Courage, outgoing President of the Nigerian Court Of Appeal, a retired but not tired Justice Ayo Salami.

An average person may vilify his view, deride his person, but it is certain that his place and name in history will never be with those cold and timid souls that neither know victory nor defeat, credit to Winston Churchill.

Justice Salami has indeed given hope to our generations and the generations yet unborn. History will forever remember him for his patriotism, honesty, and dedication.

I am using this time to wish him a fruitful retirement in good health, long life and prosperity.

The truth is incontrovertible, it was crystal clear, visible to blind, and audible to the deaf that he told no lie nor claimed easy victory; he said it to the people the way it was, he delivered all judgments with clear conscience without fear nor favour. He allowed justice to be done against the wishes of those who wanted travesty.

He has written his name in the glorified Hall of Fame and the whole world, today, know what he stood for. He is not like those neophytes who are neither here nor there.

He is my hero and he his exceptionally and extraordinarily great in service and I'm pretty sure he will be greater in retirement.

Happy retirement to the Most SENIOR ADVOCATE OF THE MASSES.

However I want to use this moment to appeal to President Goodluck Jonathan to ensure that this legal luminary gets all the benefits that are due to him without further delay in order not to allow the things involved to end up in private pockets of criminals like Maina.
