Edo PDP wants Oghiadomhe sacked

By The Citizen

The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the national level yesterday spilled down to Edo State chapter as members of the party in Edo North Senatorial district passed a vote of no confidence on the Chief of Staff to President Goodluck Jonathan, Chief Mike  Oghiadomhe.

The Edo North Senatorial members are of the opinion that Oghiadomhe should be sacked as his position in presidency has not translated to the much-needed dividends of democracy in his area.

The Edo north expanded PDP leaders and   stake holders meeting held at Polaris Hotel Jattu-Affasio near  Auchi, in Etsako West Local Government Council which however agreed that it would continue to support the president in all his future political intentions including contesting for the 2015 election, called on  him to immediate sack his Chief of Staff.

The meeting which had representatives from the six councils of Owan East, Owan West, Etsako Central, Etsako East, Etsako West and Akoko-Edo, was chaired by a former member of the House of Representatives and deputy governorship candidate of the PDP in the last governorship election in Edo State, Johnson Agbolaba.

At the meeting, a chieftain of the party, Suleiman Asekhamhe, raised observations on the former deputy governor and insisted that he was not living up to his responsibility as the senatorial leader of the party and as such should be removed for the 'benefit of our supporters who are not happy with his conduct'.

Though the meeting was called for deliberations on how the party has fared and what should be done to reposition it for 2015, the issue of Oghiadome became the topic as speaker after speaker deplored his actions and in-actions as regards the welfare of the people. The meeting became rowdy when some persons opposed the decision but they were told to leave the venue of the meeting.
