Former Senator, representing Ekiti North, Ayo Arise has said the death of former Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Agagu was a monumental and tragic loss not only to the people of Ondo State but to the entire Nigerians.

Arise said in a statement made available to journalists in Ado-Ekiti that Dr Agagu's family members, friends, associates and the people of Ondo State, especially members and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should take solace in the fact that the former governor lived a model and fulfilled life.

His words; “This death is monumental and tragic. It is an eclipse of a political and intellectual figure, who gave his all to the service of mankind.

“Dr Agagu's firm commitment to transparency, his humility and his passionate commitment to the overall development of the country cannot be over emphasised.

“He was a leader among leaders.
“My prayer is that God in His infinite mercies will console the entire Agagu's family and the people of Ondo State, especially members of our great party, the PDP and also grant them the grace to continue to uphold the virtues of Godliness and selfless service to God and mankind, which the late Dr Agagu symbolised.”
