Governor Shettima Re-Appoints Ameerul Hajj

The Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima has reappointed Alhaji Zanna Umar Mustapha the deputy governor as Ameerul Hajj and leader of Borno state delegation to the Hajj Exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for 2013.

The Special Adviser to the governor on communications, Isa Umar Gusau ssid in a statement that the deputy Governor is to lead a 21 -member committee, which has the chief of staff, Government House, Abubajar Kyari as deputy leader of the delegation while the States Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Usman Maman Durkwa is to serve as Secretary to the committee.

According to him the deputy governor was reappointed because of the overwhelming success recorded in previous hajj exercises especially that of 2012 in which Borno State Government won a special award and letter of commendation from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria fir providing the best accommodation to pilgrims.

Even though many persons and institutions have commended the Governor for cresting the political will by giving necessary approvals resulting in the extraordinary success if last year's hajj, Governor Shettima however believes that the deputy Governor and members of his delegation demonstrated uncommon commitment, prudence, selflessness , dedicated affection for the welfare of Borno people.

Governor Shettima once again thanked all members of the overwhelming 2012 ameerul hajj team for their exceptional performance and called on 2013 committee to work assiduously to surpass past records in line with ongoing policies and programmes of government aimed at reinventing Borno state for the good of its citizens.

He called on the delegation to ensure equity, justice and fairness to all pilgrims in the course of their assignments as done in previous years and prayed that Allah guides members of the committee in their import and spiritual duties.
