The inaugural flight from Lagos enroute Abuja to Yola, had 103 passengers on board its newly acquired B737-500 aircraft.

The commencement of flight operations into the airport by the airline at the weekend brought to three, the number of operating airlines there.

Arik and Medview airlines have been operating into the airport, while IRS Airline suspended its flight there about three months ago due to inadequate aircraft in its fleet.

Speaking on the inaugural flight by Chanchangi Airline into Yola, the group public relations manager, Mr Olu Balogun, said the commencement of flight to the airport marked a new begining for the airline, noting that the Yola route remained viable for the airline.

Balogun said the Yola flight became inevitable as a result of the acquisition of additional aircraft three weeks ago by the airline, adding that they would commence flight operations to Portharcourt International Airport before the end of September, while another aircraft would arrive the country early November.

He explained that as part of the  repostioning of the airline, a number of passenger friendly services would  be introduced by the airline.

Balogun thanked all the agencies and management team of the airline for their understanding during the airlines' trying time.

Recieving the airlines team led by Mr Balogun, the acting head of operations, Yola airport, Bashir Ishaq Adamu, was full of excitement adding that the airline has brought more revenue to FAAN and succour to air travellers in the region.

Adamu appealed to the airlines  management to always keep to schedule as it was the only way passengers will take them seriously in its operations.

He called on other airlines to start operation into Yola as a result of high passenger traffic on the route
