Your Excellency the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, I think the flood affecting Girls High School Ikot Ibiok in Eket should have been addressed as one of your top priorities at the just concluded AKISAN convention in Washington DC during the Town Hall meeting.

Few years ago, you implemented the Free Education Program in Akwa Ibom State, but in order to meet the objectives of your free education program, infrastructures with proper maintenance and man power must be on ground.

Our girls have also embraced this program and they want to benefit from it. We believe education will empower our women, foster independence and also give them a voice in the society if we must get rid of house-girl syndrome (Ekaete Syndrome) in our state.

Finally, with the functions of the Ministry of Information, Ministry of Education, The office of the Special Adviser on Technical Matters, Ministry of Finance etc, the Girls High School Ikot Ibiok can be transformed before school resumes in September.

His Excellency, we believe you will make the transformation of Girls High School Ikot Ibiok in Eket LGA one of your highest priorities and it will be on records that the transformation was not before Governor Akpabio but during Governor Akpabio.

God bless Akwa Ibom State.
Margaret Itauma,
Houston Texas.
