Holidaying ministers force President to postpone FEC meeting

The Federal Executive Council meeting did not hold today as usual.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, said it was suspended because some Muslim cabinet members had travelled to their home states for the Eid-el-Fitri.

Abati added that some other council members are also taking part in lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

He said it was part of the cabinet members’ constitutional rights to carry out their religious obligations
