Policeman, Teenagers Killed As Gunmen Raid Bank In Bauchi

SAN FRANCISCO, July 23, (THEWILL) – One policeman, two teenagers were killed on Tuesday night when armed men attacked a bank and a police station in Darazo, Local council of Bauchi State in northern Nigeria.

Another teenage hawker who was hit by a stray bullet during a gunfight between the armed men and policemen is being treated inside a local hospital.

Bauchi’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Hassan Mohammed, told journalists that the gunmen fled when they were confronted by the police. He added that during the gunfight between the armed men and the police, an officer was killed while two teenage females hawking food in the vicinity were killed by stray bullets.

He however did not disclose the identity of the slain policeman though he said the police have opened investigation into the incident adding that no one has been detained.
