DHQ SENDS MORE EQUIPMENT TO LIBERIA, SUDAN

To further boost Nigeria's financial status in international peacekeeping operations, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has sent more materials and equipment needed to boost the daily operations of Nigerian troops on peacekeeping duties in Liberia and the Darfur region of Sudan.

The items, which were supplied last week, included generating sets, HF sets, VHF sets, handsets, Internet facilities, binoculars, night vision goggles, GPS, industrial electric cookers, industrial electric deep fryers, industrial electric washing machine, electric dryers, jersey, pullovers, desert booths, towels, diggers, camp beds, and food containers, among others.

In a related development, the monthly welfare flights of the DHQ to troops on mission areas, for the month of February, was done last Friday. The welfare flight, which left last week, flew to Liberia and Sudan, where it took various items, equipment, local food stuff as well as letters from families of soldiers to their loved ones on peacekeeping mission areas.
