Kano APC Forum Advocates Unity And Internal Democracy

A Forum has emerged from the newly formed All Progressive Congress (APC) with the determination to sack the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Kano Government House in 2015.

Named Kano APC Forum for Equity and Justice, the caucus has the mandate to restore and ensure internal democracy, fairness, unity of purpose, and victory for APC at all level of elections in Kano come 2015.
Its chairman, Hon. Umar El-Yakub, a former lawmaker told press men in Kano yesterday that the new Forum will do everything possible within its power not to allow any individual to hijack the APC structure in Kano.

Our coming together is to chat a new course that will allow all aspirants to realize their aspirations within the framework of the party rules and regulations.

The Forum shall resist with all force, any attempt by any person or persons to use the Forum to satisfy his/her or their personal and selfish interest. This Forum is an APC forum for all APC members and any person who genuinely identifies with and will work for the attainment of APC ideals.

We are also conscious of the fact that the mission of the Forum is heavily tasking, but it is absolutely necessary and vital for the socio-political wellbeing of Kano state, as such, no sacrifice will be too big to make from its members in other to attain the desired goal.

The ultimate collective goal is to bring about a government which will reposition Kano state for security, stability, unity, democracy, social justice, socio-economic development and growth for good governance.

That is why we are working for the collective good of all party members, as the Forum stand out as a collective project whereby the promotion and interest of any particular individual is achieved,”El-Yakub stated.

According to him, in realizing the objectives of the Forum, members shall work together in unity and common identity so as to complement the APC  for the purposes of building a strong, fair and equitable political structure, pointing out that this complementary role shall seek to avoid, in totality, politics of hate, deceit, revenge, lack of restraint, selfishness, but instead to promote the party’s general progress and common good whereby a level playing ground will be established for aspirants pursue their ambition.

He further stated that the Kano APC Forum for Equity and Justice was initiated and formed with the intention to bring about a paradigm shift, adding that, “the Forum is determined to succeed in search of for unity in the APC and reconciliation. The Forum is a platform for the reconciliation of all those who feel alienated by past political events.”

El-Yakub explained that the Forum has a collection of former gubernatorial aspirants, Senators, House Representative Members, past Commissioners, party leaders and elders, stressing that the Forum will neither support any candidate nor allow any individual to impose favourite candidate for elective position on it, pointing out that, “it is human to prepare for the worst and history has told us to be more pro-active, that is why we are taking this time to assemble ourselves to fight the unforeseen.”
