State of emergency: Army reviews curfew in Adamawa

The Nigerian Army in Yola, Tuesday, announced a review of the curfew imposed in Adamawa State, following the emergency rule imposed on the state in April by President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to a statement issued by the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Fatai Allih, on behalf the 23rd Armored Brigade of the Nigerian Army,  said the curfew would now run from 11pm to 5am daily instead of 8pm to 5am.

The statement indicated that the review of the curfew was as a result of the improvement in security situation in Adamawa state.

It added that the review of the curfew was also to enable Moslems in the state to observe the Holy month of Ramadan in accordance with the teaching of Islam.

The statement warned those with the intention of disrupting law and order to desist from such act or face the full wrath of the law.

He advised people to go about their normal activities and report any suspicious character to the nearest police or security post.
