Lagos, Nigeria; July 08, 2013: Leading telecoms operator, Airtel Nigeria has commissioned a customer experience centre at the University of Lagos, Akoka, for cater to the needs of the university community and its environs.

With the location of the shop on the campus, students, academic and non-academic staff as well as visitors to the campus have been availed the opportunity to access Airtel's all-inclusive service experience that includes a rich range of unique offerings in data, voice, bill payment, query resolution and general enquiries.

In addition to the new shop, Airtel also refurbished the institution's faculty of education auditorium, complete with top-of-the-range air conditioners.

Speaking in his opening remarks, Lagos Regional Operations Director, Airtel Nigeria, Bayo Osinowo, said the new service point was in line with Airtel's strategy to take its customer service delivery to the door steps of customers.

He further explained that the move will reduce the quest for a better service experience by UNILAG, reiterating that it is yet another reason more Nigerians especially the youth should port to Airtel.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Duro Oni, who represented the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Rahman A. Bello, while cutting the tape to declare the shop open to customers, thanked Airtel for supporting the institution in the provision of social amenities.

Prof. Oni, who led other top management of the institution including Dean, Faculty of Education and Chairman of the Faculty Board, Prof. (Mrs.) M.O. Omoegun, said UNILAG will continue to create an enabling environment for Airtel to serve the university.

He confided that the Airtel brand is building a solid reputation for innovative leadership in providing the best possible telecommunications experience comparable to what exists anywhere in the world.

The new Airtel service point is the second by the company at the University having deployed a similar one albeit for data services only, recently.
