Mbaise Agog As Anglican Communion Honours Ugochukwu's Mother

The assertion that “picture windows and a priceless décor in a home are not yet complete without a mother” got justified when children, celebrities and luminaries all gathered to celebrate with Dr. Mrs. B.C Ugochukwu the mother of celebrity writer and media consultant, Ugochukwu Favour-Mayor, last Sunday.


The event which holds a lifetime memory for all those present stood Mbaise to a still and agog as the Anglican Communion honoured the celebrant with the Mother General title at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Afor-Ajala Obibi Nguru Aboh Mbaise in Imo State.

This feat according to the leadership of the Church came on the heels of her immeasurable contribution to the growth of God's kingdom and on human development.

With a very relaxing atmosphere, the event gave a lavish flow of Westlog champagne and mouth-watering menu for the esteemed guests, and with a dose of good music that made it a spectacular one.

Speaking, the Special Assistant to the Imo State governor on Entertainment and Propaganda, Hon. Uche Ogbuagu expressed joy on the feat the celebrant and mother of his friend, media consultant and celebrity writer, Ugochukwu Favour-Mayor has capped. He stressed that the honour was based on merit and also justifies that the quality of life the son lives is indeed from the mother.

Continuing, the Chairman Onne Oil and Gas, Chief Hon Dr. Chris Asoluka lauded the celebrant with his heartfelt words of eulogy when he said, “This is one family I'm always pleased to associate with. The son, even in the media industry has shown to be a force to reckon with. One thing with him is that he is always aspiring with a global mindset, and that's innovation for you. I strongly believe that the mother who we are celebrating today possesses it all,” he said.

Describing the celebrant as a woman of virtue, the Special Assistant to the Imo State governor on Lagos Liaison, Hon. Lisa Asugha, however, showered encomium on her, as she stressed that Mrs. Ugochukwu's contribution to human development has been noticed by all, adding that it has won her a place in the heart of men and women of goodwill.

Eulogizing her as a devout Christian, the President Nguru Political Forum, Hon Clavis Iwuchukwu said as a teacher that she remains a role model not only to those in her immediate Mbaise clan, but to all whom she has taught and continued to mentor even now.


The Chairman, Cona Anosike Support Foundation, Amb. Prof. Chinedu Asinu-Anosike urged all to bear in mind that life is a gift from God and such must be appreciated. “Nne Oha has also given her time and best to the upbringing and wellbeing of her children, her family and the larger community. It is only proper that we express our gratitude by celebrating her motherhood and life of service to God and humanity,” he said.

Also, the former Senior Special Assistant to the Imo State governor on Political, Hon Henry Onwukwe said that what all young people should owe their parents, especially mothers is to attribute their success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education they received from them.

Not only did elites in the Nigerian corporate world stepped out in style to this epoch event, it was turned to a festive gathering, even as its witnesses were women from different organizations, politicians, captain of industries, clergies and overall of it all were family, friends and well wishers who all came to honour the invite.

Interestingly, the family of the celebrant treated their valued guests to a VIP reception, not minding the class of who-is-who. Among the roll call were: Nollywood actress, Diamond Adaeze Igwe, CEO Ibari Ogwa Village, Chukwudi Ofoha, Uche Ogbuagu, Hon. Henry Onwukwe, Ogo Okpalaji, Lady Chika Uju, Hon. Clavis Iwuchukwu, Paschal Ihejirika and host of other very important personalities.
