Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State has signed the state's 2013 Appropriation Bill of N83.79bn into law.

The signing ceremony, which took place inside the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House, was witnessed by the principal officers and members of the state House of Assembly and the State Executive Council.

Chime commended the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Chief Eugene Odo, for his and other members' commitment to ensuring the speedy passage of the bill and for the critical adjustments they made in the original bill as presented by the Executive.

The governor pointed out that the upward review of the budget was to fill an observed gap and described it as a clear demonstration that both the Executive and Legislature were working together for the best interest of the people.

He also commended the cooperation and excellent working relationship between both arms of government during his recent absence, adding that the continued stability in the House had made the state the source of envy and a model of democracy in the country.

Chime expressed the hope that the government would be able to realise all the money projected in the budget and promised to implement all the provisions of the budget document to the letter.
