Sylva To Hold Pro - Yar'adua Rally In Yenagoa

Information reaching Ukpakareports.com that Governor Timipre Sylva of Bayelsa State has planned to hold a two day rally in the state billed for next week Monday & Tuesday in his staunch support for the ailing President Mallam Umaru Musa Yar'Adua against Bayelsa born Vice President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan,GCON.

The rally, our authoritative source said the start off point is at the boundary of Rivers and Bayelsa States and terminates at Samson Siasia Football Stadium. Later,it move to other motorable local government headquarters in the state.

Already,all the pro-Yar'Adua groups in other states have been linked for the project with a financial back-up from the kitchen carbinet.But, Timipre Sylva at the meeting quoted as saying, "Leave the total cost of the rally for me.Afterall,we'll use this month allocation for all this important project so that those who are anxious about position will be disgraced". At the meeting it was also agreed that the state[Bayelsa] should not be disclosed to the media,so as to take the Vice President unaware.

A top politician who is a serving Commissioner in the state that pleaded not to be on print said,"we are set for the proposed rally,our Principal[Sylva] had brief some of us and waiting for the Accountant-General to release fund as directed by His Excellency to enable us print T-Shirts,Banners,Hand bills and other logistics. Asked on the mobilization,the Aide's said,they have been asked to mobilize six hundred[600] people including Youths,Men,Women and Disable.

It could be recalled that,the rally is billed to take place in Kaduna, Enugu, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Kano and Maiduguri to douse the flames of the President's removal from office.

In another development, five known Peoples Democratic Party[PDP] Candidates for the last year November 28 primary for this April 3 local government council elections have dragged members of the State Working Committee[SWC]of the party to court,joined on the suit are the Chairman,Chief Rufus Abadi, Deputy Chairman,Chief Darius Obiene and Secretary,Mr. James Agari. Also, joined in the suit are members of the State Independent Electoral Commission[BSIEC] and Peres Peretu,Eddy Julius, Ebikitin Sunday Diongoli, Samuel Boy, Mike Ogbolosingha.

The Defendants are being sued over the presentation of Certificates to two groups of candidates.Chief Rufus Abadi had in December 10 last year issued the PDP Candidates with Certificates of return. While aggrieved James Agari also presented Certificates of return to another set of Candidates.

Ukpakareports.com further revealed that Chief Abadi as at the time of the party primary was not suspended by the National Executive Committee[NEC] as provided in Article 21 of PDP Constitution 2009[as amended],it is only when the party chairman is suspended that his deputy steps in to his shoes.Abadi says his action was inconformity with the directives from the National Secretariat and in line with the party constitution.

The known Candidates are, Chief Koku Gariga[Sagbama] Chief Ineye Igbaifegha[Kolokuma/Opokuma] Benett Igbani[Ogbia] Selekebina Saboh[Ekeremor] and Prince Okolobaowei Seimokumoh[Yenagoa],through their Solicitor,Chief Joseph Afekoro prayed the court to interpret the relevant sections of the party constitution on which of the State Working Committee[SWC] member's signature is needed on the certificates of return as issued by the party.

The State Governor allegedly met with the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Kate Abiri over the weekend to create ways for the Defendants to win the matter brought before the court. A lawyer in the state spoke on condition of anonmity that,the state chief Judge is the last person to morgage her profession with money that he has ever seen in the profession.

Because of her strictness people avoid her court with cases when she was not made as Chief Judge.
