Foreign Minister Westerwelle: Accusations against soldiers in the Malian army must be investigated thoroughly

BERLIN, Germany, January 25, 2013/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- Foreign Minister Westerwelle issued the following statement today (24 January) on reports of attacks by the advancing Malian army against Tuaregs and others:

“These are serious accusations which must be investigated thoroughly. Acts of revenge or violence by Malian soldiers against civilians or ethnic minorities would be utterly unacceptable. They would also undermine efforts towards political reconciliation in Mali.”
