FIFA U-20 World Cup: Nigeria draws Germany

Nigeria Flying Eagles has been drawn against Germany as the second round of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt begins on Monday with two matches to be played.

Nigeria will play its second round match against Germany on Wednesday.

Group B leaders, Spain, will host Group A third place, Italy, on Monday, at the Cairo's Al Salam Stadium in what appears to be the second round toughest pairing.

Paraguay will host Korea Republic later in the day.

Three second round matches are scheduled for Tuesday: Ghana will play fellow Africans, South Africa, while Hungary is drawn against Czech Republic.

Host country, Egypt, will play Costa Rica in the last match of the day.

On Wednesday, Nigeria will play Germany before Brazil takes on Uruguay, before Venezuela plays United Arab Emirates.

However, one of the four African countries that made it to the second round is assured of a quarter-final ticket.

The countries are Ghana, Nigeria, Egypt and South Africa. With the draws released, Ghana will play South Africa on Tuesday, assuring an African team in the quarters.

No African country has won the cup.
