Ashafa preaches selfless service in the new year

The lawmaker representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, has joined millions of Nigerians to welcome the new year(2013) in a grand style.

In a good will message released at his constituency office, the first citizen of Lagos East Senatorial District said that we should all welcome the new year with our minds full of hope despite the various challenges the nation is facing and that everyone should be ready to build the Nation in his or her area of discipline.

"Every moment of our life is most precious. We should not fritter it away in useless pursuits, but devote it in the search of building the Nation to compete with the rest of the world in all ramifications" he said

He also enjoined all Nigerians, irrespective of religious beliefs to imbibe and emulate the spirit of the season, which is love, joy, peace, justice and kindness.

He urged Nigerians to continue to promote the unity of the country in its progressive march towards nationhood.
