The search for a helicopter that crashed this afternoon (local time) after taking off at Okoroba, Bayelsa State is ongoing, according to security sources in Bayelsa State.


Sources told THEWILL that the chopper that was carrying former NSA, General Andrew Azazi, Kaduna State Governor, Mr. Patrick Yakowa, his ADC, security aides, Timi Dakolo, and wife and pilot crashed a few minutes after taking off at about 3.30pm.


They were being ferried to Port Harcourt after attending the funeral of the father of Oronto Douglas, one of President Goodluck Jonathan’s Special Advisers.


NEMA in an SMS to THEWILL said it has activated search rescue in collaboration with other security agencies.
