International World Class Hospital for Anambra

A team of Consultants on Investment from the United States of America has proposed to build an International World Class Hospital in the State. The team while on courtesy call on Governor Peter Obi said the hospital, when completed, would employ over forty doctors and over one thousand two hundred nurses.

A member of the team, Dr. Maria Todd said the hospital would equally create opportunities for capacity development and institutional- strengthen for skill and unskilled labour, including technicians and Engineers.


She explained that the hospital with advance health facility can extend services to the entire West African Sub-region, noting that the State has the potential to drive the process.


The traditional ruler of Ifite-Dunu, Igwe Emeka Ilouno who is part of the team said they wanted to identify with the success story of Governor Obi's administration and key into the commendable achievements recorded in the Health Sector. Igwe Ilouno explained that they are responding to the Governor's call for stakeholders to think home and attract investments to the State to make it a model in the country in line with the Governor's passion to uplift the State.


Responding, Governor Obi said Africa held the hope for the survival of the global economy as it had huge unexplored human and material resources.

He noted that with the right leadership, Nigeria can effectively harness its abundant potentials to become a major player in world economy.


The Governor explained that establishing such world class hospital in the State is important and urgent now in the State's drive to achieve the MDGs.


He observed that such facilities will equally discourage people from seeking healthcare services aboard and assured the team of government support.
