Nigeria First Lady Arrives Abuja From German Hospital
ABUJA, October 17, (THEWILL) - Nigeria's First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, returned to Nigeria from Germany Wednesday, where she has been receiving treatment for several weeks, THEWILL can authoritatively report. Mrs. Jonathan arrived on a presidential jet around 3:45 PM Nigerian time.
On her arrival she was welcomed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja by officials of the People’s Democratic Party, some female ministers, women groups, and other party followers.
Earlier speculations from sources in the presidency said Mrs. Jonathan was billed to arrive back in the country last week Thursday but that plan was overruled by the hospital authorities in Wiesbaden, Germany, and the trip was aborted.
While details of her exact diagnosis has not been revealed by the presidency, Mrs. Jonathan will continue to undergo treatment in Nigeria, but will still make a few trips to Germany in the future for further analysis and treatment of her undisclosed medical condition.
