At the beginning of the coroner proper, Adeoye Oluyemi, a Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, official, who gave evidence on what his team observed on the day of the crash, said   he was informed by a commercial motorcyclist at  3. 45 p.m. on the day of the incident, that a plane crashed into residential buildings in the Toyin area of Iju-Ishaga, Lagos.

Oluyemi, a Zonal Head of Zone 29 of LASTMA, said he immediately rushed to the scene. He added that when he and his men arrived at the location, traffic on Toyin Street, a nearest major road leading to the crash site, was seriously jam-packed as a result of which he and his men started controlling the traffic, to pave way for emergency and rescue vehicles to enable them go to the crash site.

He said the traffic at the scene and the crowd, including  sympathisers, residents and concerned citizens were so overwhelming that they could not control the situation.
