NATIONAL President of Nigeria Guild of Actors, Mr. Segun Arinze has pledged to do everything possible to discourage all acts of nudity in Nigerian movies.

Mr. Arinze stated this when he led the executive members of the Guild to a courtesy call on Kano state deputy governor, Engr. Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo in his office yesterday.

He maintained that the association would strictly adhere to the norms and values of the society, adding that any act of nudity in the Nigerian movie is greatly condemned by the association.

The NGA president said efforts are on top gear to ensure that all Nigerian films are inline with the norms and values of the society with a view to maintaining Nigerian cultural heritage, as well as protecting the mindsets
of the teeming populace of the country.

Arinze pointed out that the visit would give them the chance to partner with the government to fight drug abuse, HIV/Aids and VVF in order to move the state forward.

He explained that, they found it necessary to visit Kano because of its socio-economic position in the country.
Responding, the deputy governor, Engr. Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo appreciated the effort of the Guild in sensitizing the film industry especially with regards to nudity and respect for the norms of the society.

He charged the members to be conscious in adhering to the norms and cultures of the society and appealed to them to respect the ethics of their profession while conducting their activities, saying their visit would strengthen the cordial relationship between Kano state government and the association.
