Justice Eso, Lanre Idowu, others penned for honour at the 2011 Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Journalism

The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism will present the anti-corruption defender award and the lifetime award for journalistic excellence respectively to the sage of law practice Justice Kayode Eso and media veteran Mr. Lanre Idowu at the sixth award presentation ceremony of the Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting scheduled to hold on Friday 9 December 2011 at NECA Main Hall, Plot A2, Hakeem Balogun Street, opposite Afrika shrine, Agidingbi, Lagos at 5pm prompt.


The award search committee made up of the Centre's representatives and delegations from other civil society organisations came up with an overwhelming endorsement of Justice Eso's untiring effort to promote integrity in the judiciary, as well as his unstinting commitment to the values of justice in the larger view of a noble society.


On his part Mr. Lanre Idowu, the Managing Director of Diamond publications was praised and chosen by the Centre for his years of consistent labour towards the growth of the Nigerian media, exemplified by his principled stand on those positive values that directly connects media reporting to democratic growth.


Both men will be honoured alongside the merit award winners, runners-up and the WSCIJ-Nigeria investigative journalist of the year to be unveiled at the award presentation ceremony.


The merit award win for this year's award programme will include the award plaque, laptops, free internet access subscription and up to N100, 000 cash prize for winners.
