AIRTEL LAUNCHES RISING STARS TALENT HUNT PROGRAMME

Airtel Nigeria has kicked off a nation wide talent hunt programme that hopes to sift through millions of youths to identify young stars who would excel in the game of football as part of the company's many corporate social responsibilities currently being embarked in the country.

Airtel at the ceremony held at the National Stadium, Lagos told brand, sports and ICT journalist that eventual winners of these talent hunt programmed called Airtel Rising Stars will be taken to South Africa.

According to the company's Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Deepak Srivastava 'Airtel Rising Stars will engage with our consumers, providing them the opportunity to watch, play and experience football right across the country.

Through this initiative, we want to support talent across Nigeria by providing a real platform. This initiative will target boys under the age of 17 years who are passionate about playing football.'

The company says it will remain committed to seeking similar initiatives that create a positive impact across grassroots to national and regional levels. 'We will work very closely across our 15 markets in Africa with the relevant ministries and institutions who oversee the sport in these countries' he concluded.
