Airtel explains innovative Feel Free Bonanza

Lagos, Nigeria; February 27, 2011: Leading telecommunications service provider, Airtel Nigeria has offered reasons for introducing a new dimension into the way marketing Promos are conducted in the country with its recently launched free Airtel Feel Free Bonanza.

The mobile operator is offering its existing and new customers throughout the country the opportunity to win 100 brand new LCD television sets in 100 days for free. Participants are not required to pay the cost of participating in the promo. To participate in the Bonanza, customers are required to send the keyword “feel free” by SMS to the short-code 333. The Bonanza is a point-based interactive trivia and participation is through SMS only.

Airtel Feel Free Bonanza is the free promo in the history of the Nigerian telecommunication industry.

Explaining the rationale for introducing a new innovation into the conduct of Bonanza, Airtel Nigeria's Chief Operating Officer & Executive Director, Deepak Srivastava, said the move is another illustration of the company's commitment to breathe fresh air of originality and creativity into service offering for the benefits of Airtel's customers in the country.

According to him, after years of telecom companies serving customers same thing, it became necessary to present something new and exhilarating, stressing that the Bonanza presents the mobile Airtel another platform to ingeniously excite and delight its customers as well as incentivise them for their loyalty to the brand.

He explained that every Airtel customer is eligible to participate in the Bonanza and can make as many entries as possible, adding that no participant will be charged for the entry to win LCD Television sets irrespective of the number of entries.

A winner is expected to emerge for each day of the Bonanza starting from the take off date, February 21, 2011. The Bonanza will run for 100 days.

The first batch of winners will be announced on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 (this week).

Winners will be selected weekly using a fully computerised and fully randomized raffle (Draw) system that has been certified by a leading processes and applications audit firm, TCQ&A who also has the responsibility of supervising the process of the draws and prize redemption.

Also, the regulatory authorities, the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) and the Consumer Protection Council will be on hand to monitor the process.

To improve their chances of winning, customers have been advised to increase the number of their entries by answering the point based questions correctly. The more points a customer earns, the higher the number of entries he has in the draw.

The Bonanza started on Monday, February 21, 2011 and will end on May 28, 2011
