The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has raised the alarm over alleged plan by the ruling Laboour Party (LP) in the state to use its ongoing residency card programme tagged, Kadi Igbe Ayo to manipulate the forthcoming voters' registration exercise.

The party alleged that the Mimiko administration was embarking on the project with a view to smuggling names on the residency card project into Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voters' registration scheme slated to begin in January.

A statement issued by the party's Director of Publicity, Ayo Fadaka said the PDP has equally identified a number of INEC staff already compromised that would be used to integrate this data into the voters register.

Fadaka added that the PDP would ensure that nobody was allowed to corrupt the next election process in line with the desire of Mr. President to conduct a free and fair election next year.

The party also warned INEC staffers working hands in glove with the Mimiko-led administration to cheat during the next election that dire consequences await them if they in any manner collude to subvert the electioneering process.

The statement read in part: 'As a party, we have taken due strategic cognizance of the timing of the execution of this data collecting scheme and now wishes to let the entire world know that the Mimiko administration is embarking on this project with a view to smuggle same into INEC voters registration scheme that is slated to begin in January.

'We have equally identified a number of INEC staff already compromised that will be used to integrate this data into the Voters Register. We however want to assure them that it will fail as we will stop at nothing to guarantee that nobody be allowed to corrupt the next election process'.

The Ondo State Government had recently flagged of its residency card project few weeks ago.
