NO ONE CAN TAKE GLORY FOR ONI’S ACHIEVEMENTS - AIDE

By Lere Olayinka

Ekiti State former Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation,

Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun has said that it will be difficult for the

State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, to take glory for the over 2,000

projects completed by the Engr. Segun Oni-led administration, noting

that; “Ekiti people cannot be deceived by anyone because they are no

fools.”
Olatunbosun, in a statement made available to journalists today, said

even though most of the already completed projects were yet to be

commissioned, any attempt by the Fayemi-led government to commission

or advertise them as part of its achievements would attract

condemnations from Ekiti people because they know when the projects

were completed.
“We are aware that supporters of our party, the Peoples Democratic

Party (PDP) are apprehensive over the possibility of the present

government in Ekiti State embarking on the commissioning of projects

already completed by the immediate past government but I am sure

Fayemi, himself won't do such a thing.
“Fayemi knows that Ekiti people cannot be fooled and I can assure that

the moment he (Fayemi) makes any attempt to advertise any of the

projects initiated and completed by the Oni-led government, the people

will kick.
“For instance, Ekiti people know who completed the 132/33KVA power

station in Ado-Ekiti, which was initiated 34 years ago. The people

know when new blocks of classrooms, including storey buildings were

constructed in their schools. They know who initiated the construction

of the new House of Assembly Complex, Deputy Governor's Office and

Secretariat buildings which are almost completed.
“Most importantly, the people know when the 26km
Ijero-Ikoro-Ajindo-Okemesi road, 16 km Isinbode-Iro-Federal-Iro-Irun

road, which links Iro-Ekiti to other towns in the State, 29.1 km Oke

Ayedun –Ipao – Oke Ako – Irele road, 10 km Ita-Awure – Ido-Ile road,

20.1km Ido-Otun-Kwara Border, 10.5 Ita-Ido – Ido-Ile, 13.2km

Otun-Erinmope-Kwara Border, 4.2km Orin-Ido-Orin Farm Settlement,

32.1km Emure-Supare, 5.9km Egbe-Imesi, 6.0km Igbara-Odo – Ibuji,

17.0km Omuo-Oke – Omuo-Odo – Itapaji Dam, 29.8km Agbado-Ode-Omuo, 10km

Omuo-Eda Ile, 4.6km Ifaki-Orin-Ora, 21.9km Ikogosi-Ipole Iloro-Efon

Alaaye, 13.2km Emure-Eporo, 9.6km Iludun-Eda Oniyo-Obo Ayegunle

Boundary, 4.2km Ifaki township, 2km Ipoti township and 2km Omuo

township roads, among other roads were constructed.

“Therefore, any attempt by Fayemi to go on with the planned

commissioning of projects not initiated and completed by his

government or abandoning any of the ongoing projects will further

expose his hypocrisy,” Olatunbosun said.
While also castigating the governor for offering to assist the Action

Congress of Nigeria (ACN) ongoing registration exercise with

government fund, Olatunbosun said; “I don't think that he meant what

he said because government fund cannot be used for ACN registration.

Fayemi was quoted to have said while registering as ACN member that

whatever the party needed in terms of money for the registration would

be supported by the government.
But Olatunbosun, who condemned the statement said Ekiti people would

resist any attempt to lavish meant for developmental projects in the

State on ACN membership registration.
