ACN Mourns Late Ekiti Deputy Speaker

ABUJA, Oct 3O, (THEWILL) - The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has expressed shock and sadness following the death of the Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Saliu Abayomi Adeoti.

In a statement issued in Abuja Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party described Adeoti as a loyal party man and a diligent, principled person, who stood solidly by the party all through the 42 months of its epic struggle to reclaim its stolen mandate from the PDP.

''A ranking lawmaker who is not imbued with such strength of character as Hon. Adeoti could have dumped his party and teamed up with the then ruling party in the state, but Hon. Adeoti remained true to his principle and beliefs all through the struggle.

''It is a cruel irony that he died shortly after the struggle finally ended on a positive note,'' ACN said.

The party prayed God to grant repose to the soul of the departed and also strengthen the family he left behind to bear the irreparable loss.
