Nollywood actress Bimpe Akintunde has opened up about her failed marriage, revealing that trouble began just three months into her second pregnancy.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Yoruba, she shared how her husband constantly complained during her first trimester, questioning if she was the first woman to get pregnant.

The actress described her second daughter as a gift from God, as the pregnancy came at a difficult time. Despite the challenges, she expressed gratitude for the child.

She further shared her view on polygamy, stating that she sees nothing wrong with being a second, third, or fourth wife.

The Yoruba actress advised intending couples to take their time to study each other's character and behaviour before walking down the aisle. She warned against rushing into marriage and encouraged women to learn from her experience.

She said:
"I cried when I was carrying my second pregnancy. God gave me my second daughter as a gift because it wasn't up to three months of being pregnant that I started experiencing issues in my marriage. He was always questioning if I was the first woman to get pregnant."

"Don't see anything bad in being a first, second, third and fourth wife to a man. I want other women to learn a lesson from me.

"If you ever meet someone and he says he wants to marry you quickly, make sure you spend time with him even if it's just three months to study out his character and behaviour."
