Rotimi Salami To Represent Late Allwell Ademola At Toronto Film Festival
Nollywood actor Rotimi Salami has expressed a mix of joy and heartbreak after his late colleague, Allwell Ademola, received a posthumous nomination in Toronto, Canada.
The nomination came for their movie Kilanko, which was recognized in the Best Film by a Female Filmmaker (Nollywood) category at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival.
Taking to his Instagram page, Salami shared the news and noted that he would be attending the event alone to represent the late actress. He congratulated her and expressed gratitude for the recognition, while also acknowledging the bittersweet nature of the moment.
He wrote:

BEST FILM BY A FEMALE FILMMAKER (NOLLYWOOD)
SO I WILL REPRESENT US ALONE ABI

The Nigerian Voice reported that the Nollywood industry, particularly the Yoruba movie industry, was thrown into mourning over the death of actress Princess Allwell Ademola, who was announced to have suffered a heart attack which led to her death at the age of 49 on Saturday , December 27, 2025. Many actors and actresses took to their respective social media pages to express their shock at her sudden demise.
The late Allwell Ademola's service of songs was held on Thursday, January 8, and was well-attended by several Nollywood stars, including Wumi Toriola, Iyabo Ojo, Odunlade Adekola, Rotimi Salami, amongst others.
