I Don't Owe Anyone an Apology – YCee Stands By 'Peller Culture' Comment
Nigerian rapper and singer Oludemilade Martin Alejo, popularly known as YCee, has refused to apologise for using Peller as an example in his recent comments on the decline of education.
Speaking in an interview with Cool FM Lagos, the rapper stood by his statement, insisting that he said what he said.
YCee addressed the backlash, stating that those who feel offended should check themselves. He also noted that many people have taken his comments out of context, adding that the "olodo uprising" is even worse than he thought because so many people are coming out to defend it. He reiterated that his call is for people who are tired of brain-rot content.
The rapper further argued that there is no reason intelligent people cannot be streamers or content creators, questioning why the two cannot go hand in hand.
He said:
"Some people are saying I shouldn't have called Peller's name, but I said what I said. If you feel offended, you should check yourself. A lot of people are also taking what I said out of context. The olodo uprising is even worse than I thought because there are so many people coming out to defend it.
My call is to people that are tired of brain-rot contents. There is no reason why intelligent people cannot be streamers or content creators."
