Hilda Baci Defends 15-Year-Old Brother After Online Bullying, Edited Photos

By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has spoken out against online bullying directed at her 15-year-old brother after a lighthearted Snapchat video of them was reposted across platforms and used to mock him.

In a post on the popular microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), she expressed her shock that adults had resorted to editing his photos to make him look bigger, just to get a few laughs.

The two-time Guinness World records holder stated that her brother did nothing except exist in a funny video with his sister. She emphasised that he is kind, loved, and growing into an amazing young man, and that no hateful comment or edited photo would ever change that. She also addressed those leaving cruel comments, urging them to remember that there is a real teenager on the other side of their screens reading what they write.

The chef further called on those mocking her brother to do better, noting that their actions reflect more on their character than on his.

She wrote:
"I never imagined that a lighthearted video with my 15-year old brother would be taken from my Snapchat, reposted across different platforms, and turned into an excuse to bully a child.

Some of you have left cruel comments. Others have gone as far as editing his photos to make him look bigger just to get a few laughs.

Read that again.
Adults are editing the image of a 15 year old boy and publicly mocking him.

My brother did nothing except exist in a funny video with his sister.

If your idea of entertainment is tearing down a child, then that's a reflection of your character, not his.

He's kind. He's loved. He's growing, learning, and becoming the amazing young man I know he will be. No hateful comment or edited photo will ever change that.

I hope, before you type another insult or share another edited image, you remember that there is a real teenager on the other side of your screen reading what you write.

Do better."
