Life Has Been Difficult Since Mr Ibu's Passing – Family Appeals For Help
The family of late Nollywood actor and comedian John Ikechukwu Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has opened up about the struggles they have faced since his passing.
Speaking during a recent visit by content creator King Mitchy, Mr Ibu's wife disclosed that life has been tough for them.
She revealed that they have been fetching water from a well because she has not been able to pay the house rent. She also stated that their electricity has been cut off for two months, forcing them to look for places to charge their phones every night.
Sharing more updates, the late comic actor's daughter praised her mother for her efforts in caring for the family, feeding them, and paying their school fees.
She also appealed to Nigerians, especially those who worked with her father in the industry, to come to their aid. She expressed gratitude to God for her mother's strength and resilience in keeping the family together despite the challenges.
"We fetched water from the well because I have not paid the house rent, they even cut my light since two months now, no light since we have been like that every night we go to look for where to charge our phones and it's not easy."
"I want to thank God for my mom, and she tried everything she can to feed us, pay our school fees make us happy.
"So Nigerians if you were in the industry with my dad, you're seeing us now come and meet us."
Mr Ibu, a well-known comic actor underwent a leg amputation in November 2023, following battle with severe illness.
He eventually gave up the ghost on 2 March 2024, at the age of 62 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
