Popular Nollywood actress and media personality Nancy Isime has sparked a heated debate after sharing her unconventional views on parenthood.

Speaking on the 'Thanks For Coming' podcast, the movie star was asked about her plans for having children, but her response took a philosophical turn that surprised many listeners.

Isime suggested that true love for children might actually mean sparing them from the hardships of life. She questioned whether the world is a place worth bringing new life into, pointing to the daily struggles, suffering, and challenges that everyone faces. She even admitted that there are days she wishes she had never been born.

While acknowledging that everyone must endure their own share of suffering, Isime maintained that children will not escape life's difficulties.

She said:

"You know the craziest thing about loving children? I feel like if you really love children, you wouldn't want to bring them into the world."

"Are you not suffering today? Have you not seen me today? Is Earth not ghetto? Are you not going through a lot? Don't you wish some days that you were not born?"

"No. Everybody has to suffer. They'll come and suffer their own. They're not gonna escape it."
