Nollywood actor Mofe Duncan has lashed out at media personality Daddy Freeze following his complaints over the Service of Songs held in honour of late actor Alexx Ekubo.

Daddy Freeze, who attended the event, went against the dress code by wearing black instead of white. He later posted a video online condemning the pastor’s preaching and slammed gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo for turning the gathering into a concert, adding that he got angry and left the venue.

Enraged by Daddy Freeze's comment, Mofe Duncan lambasted him stating that the night was not about him or anyone else but Alexx. He described himself as a very objective person who does not put mouth in matters that do not concern him, however, he deeply struggles with the urge to educate people who step gravely out of line, noting how Daddy Freeze stepped gravely out of line.

According to him, it was not a funeral but a Night of Tributes and a Service of Songs. He noted that hymns were sang, not once, not twice. He also explained that it was a Night of Worship, adding that members of Alexx's inner circle repeatedly said Alexx loved to worship, hence the reason for honouring his wish in death.

Knocking the controversial media personality, Mofe Duncan argued that he should not have the temerity to voice his opinion because he did not adhere to the dress code, wearing black to an all white celebration of Alexx's life.

He also addressed Freeze's audacity to come online and say he was angry and left, declaring that may people not walkout on Daddy Freeze's own night of tributes. He revealed that the comment destroyed his will to ignore the matter and opt to educate Daddy Freeze on why he should never have come online to downplay and Alexx's "glorious immortalisation."

The Nigerian Voice reported that Alexx Ekubo gave up the ghost on May 11, at the age of 40, following a battle with cancer.

The actor's Service of Songs was held at the Monarch Event Centre in the Lekki area of Lagos State on June 10. The ceremony drew a mix of Nigeria’s entertainment and political elite. The atmosphere was charged with emotion as colleagues, friends, and fans came together to pay their final respects to the beloved actor.
