Nollywood actress Toyin Adewale, has recounted her son, Mayorkun's first meeting with his former label boss, Afrobeats star Davido.

In a candid interview with Biola Bayo, the Yoruba movie star revealed that she was present when Davido contacted her son to come to his studio.

According to her, meeting the 30BG crew was an eye-opener as they were respectful and humble.

She also expressed gratitude to her Maker for making them meet, praying for the singer's continuous progress.

She said:
"The first time I came back from America, I came back after nine years. When I got back, and I saw them, I stepped to one side and cried. (I stepped aside and wept). I said thank you, God cause they really make me proud. I was there when Davido called him; he actually wanted to go crázy. He said Davido told him to come the next day to record a song. That was the night they recorded Eleko.

Mayowa has always been someone who writes poems and loves to sing. I got there, and the boy was so pleasant. All their crews were so pleasant and respectful. They were calling me ‘Mummy’. I thank God for him; they will all prosper. They won’t fall by God’s grace."

Mayorkun joined Davido's record label, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) in February 2016 and parted ways with the label in 2021.

During the singer's five-year stint at the record label, he released several hit songs following the hit song 'Eleko' which shot him to fame.
