Nigerian rapper Tobechukwu Melvin Ejiofor, popularly known as Illbliss has shared a deeply personal account of his path to fatherhood, revealing that he and his wife endured eight years of waiting and prayer before welcoming their first child.

Speaking on the Outside The Box podcast, the hip-hop veteran recounted how they welcomed their second daughter, revealing that the life-changing discovery happened unexpectedly during a hospital visit for what they initially thought was malaria.

The rapper described the overwhelming shock and joy that followed the doctor’s revelation. He explained that both he and his wife broke down in tears in the consulting room, leaving the physician confused and concerned.

According to him, despite the doctor's advise to terminate the child, he and his wife pressed on before eventually welcoming their second daughter, whom he called a "miracle child."

He said:
“The doctor said everything was fine, but my wife was pregnant. My wife broke down and I broke down as well. The doctor thought we didn’t want the baby, but he had no clue how long we had waited for that child.”

“Doctors told us to flush and get rid of her because she wouldn’t make it, but we refused. We’re staunch Catholics. We believed God would come through, and God did come through.”
