Blood Sisters 2 Role Left Me Emotionally Empty – Nancy Isime
Popular Nollywood actress Nancy Isime has revealed that playing Kemi Sanya in Blood Sisters 2 required her to completely abandon her own personality.
Speaking about the Netflix series following its impressive milestone of clocking number one spot on the Top 10 chart in less than 24 hours, Isime shared a post on her Instagram page, opening up about her performance.
She revealed that she isolated herself for a week before filming and continued to stay isolated during production, noting how upon wrapping the role, she could not take any other projects for two months because she had nothing left to give.
Speaking about her acting prowess, she maintained that acting is neither a hobby nor a money-making scheme for her, emphasizing that her fanbase deserves to feel inspired and motivated every time they watch her perform.
Isime added that delivering a safe, lackluster performance would be cruel to the people who trusted her with the opportunity. She also thanked Netflix, EbonyLife Studios, her co-stars, and the entire production team for the opportunity to create a movie that has earned appraisal.
She wrote:

First, I just want to say the biggest thank you for all the feedbacks on my performance in Blood Sisters 2 which went to Number 1 on the Top 10 chart in less than 24 hours!
One question I’ve gotten a lot is in Slide 4…“Where did I have to dig from”…The answer? I had to completely evacuate Nancy Isime for Kemi SANYA to takeover.
The result is what you’re currently watching.
To be honest, this is an enormous risk to take as an actor as some of us never return to.
In order to achieve this, I isolated for about a week before shoot and also isolated a lot during the shoot.
Sometimes, after rehearsing a scene, the director will yell action and Kemi will do something and we’ll all look at each other like “WTF”??
After wrapping Kemi, I physically couldn’t take any other projects until about 2 months after because I truly had nothing to give anyone else. I was completely empty.
WHY?
Acting isn’t a hobby to me. It’s not a money making scheme to me. It is my Life! I’m just blessed to earn a good living from it.
My Fanbase who happen to be some of the most intelligent people I’ve ever encountered, deserve nothing but the best, they deserve to be inspired and motivated every time they watch me.
It’ll be an insult to my creator to put in all this talent in me and I repeatedly downplay it because I’m worried about doing too much or looking stupid.
Lastly but most importantly, it’ll be cruel to the amazing people who have given me this incredible opportunity to become Kemi if I just deliver a lackluster performance because it feels safe.

It was toooo easy to trust and truly become KEMI SANYA 2.0!
