Nigeria Is Plagued With Tribalism – Rapper Illbliss Bemoans

Nigerian rapper Tobechukwu Melvin Ejiofor, professionally known as Illbliss, has aired his view on the state of Nigeria, pointing out how tribalism is now high.

Speaking in a recent episode of the Outside The Box podcast, the record executive referenced the issue of non-indigenes residing in Lagos, noting how the clamour that they should leave Lagos has been loud.

Illbliss pointed out the contribution of Igbos to the economy of Lagos, revealing that a significant amount of development was brought into Lagos from the South East.

He further expressed his dissatisfaction with tribalism, stating that it is affecting the country, ranging from religion to ethnic divides.

He said:
"The Igbos have given a lot to the Lagos economy in terms of trade and commerce. I wonder how this town will be if you told every Igbo man to leave. So, I’m always shocked whenever I hear comments like, ‘If you’re not from Lagos State, go back to your state.’

We have no business being where we are as a country. We have no business not being accommodating of each other. But sadly, we are still plagued by tribalism, ethnic and religious divides."
