Nollywood's special effect artist, Onilogbo Hakeem, popularly known as Hakeem Effect, has shared insights into how his special effects journey began from the dream.

The award-winning special effects artists made the revelation in a recent online interview, recounting a dream where an individual guided him, which marked the beginning of his journey into the special effects world.

According to him the man in his dream promised to propagate his name on the condition that he followed him. Hakeem Effect disclosed that he later joined the choir, and also a drama group, where he was saddled with the responsibility of providing special effects, despite not having any knowledge about it at the time.

He said:
“I had a dream where someone held my shoulder and asked me to follow him. I looked up to see who it was, but couldn’t see the face because he was tall and white. That was how the journey started."

“He asked me, what talent do you have? and I said I could draw, and then he said, if you can follow me, I will announce you to the world. Along the line, I joined the chorister and then a drama group where I was appointed to provide special effects even though I didn’t know what it means then. While I was thinking of how to go about it, I had the dream again where the said man told me how I would achieve the special effect and it was exactly as he told me in the dream.”

He further explained that his nickname 'Hakeem Effect' was bestowed uoonthim by late Nollywood actor, Murphy Afolabi.
