Asake Opens Up On Relationship Strain With Father

Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has opened up on the reason behind his strained relationship with his father.

Mr Money made the disclosure in an interview with YouTuber, Korty EO, revealing that he previously had a close bond with his father while growing up.

He, however, explained that his father's reluctance to accept his decision to do music led to a clash of interest, making him eventually abscond from home to pursue his career.

He said:
"My dad and I were so close when I was younger. But it got to a time when I wanted to leave home to do what I’m doing now but my father said ‘No.’ I left regardless."

Asake made headlines in March 2025, following a video made by his father, accusing him of neglecting him.

The singer, decided to bury the hatchet by reconciling with his father, including taking up financial responsibility.
