"Once You Sing His Songs, The Whole World Will Hear You" — Gospel Singer Ayodeji Emmanuel Admonishes Colleagues
UK-based Nigerian singer Ayodeji Emmanuel, has admonished his fellow gospel singers on the importance of listening to God's voice, while trying to compose a song.
The multi-talented creative opened up on the challenges faced by Nigerian musicians, stating that it is about "hearing God." He explained that God sings, and everyone has to exercise patience in order to get the lyrics, and create the impact He wants to create.
"The biggest challenge musicians face in Nigeria, in my own opinion, is hearing God. I think people want to sing their own song, not the song of God. God sings, and He puts melody in our hearts. We must be patient to hear His songs so that we can create the impact He wants to create.
Speaking about publicity, he downplayed it, stating that adherence to His voice would propagate the song further.
"Publicity is not the challenge; once you sing His songs, the whole world will hear you.”
The writer also shared the challenges plaguing Christianity in the United Kingdom, stating that it is still a "religion," and not adopted as "a way of life." He noted that progress is being made gradually.
"The United Kingdom is much more difficult because Christianity here is regarded as a religion, not as a way of life. Closeness to God is still a massive work in progress, but God is moving fast, and the time is now.”
Ayodeji Emmanuel further opened up on his background in Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), stating that it took him a while to figure out his path.
He also shared that a message changed his mindset, and brought about the shift that made him write a book.
