The loss of a loved one is a painful experience, but it also usually provides many Nigerian artistes an opportunity to perform together.

Among musicians of Yoruba descent especially, fuji acts such as Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, Kollington Ayinla, Saheed Osupa and Wasiu Alabi Pasuma have been at the centre of such a cooperative concert. This was the case when Barrister and Kollington lost their mothers.

Now, it is the turn of juju superstar, King Sunny Ade, whose mother passed on a few months ago. At the final burial rites holding in Ondo, Ondo State, a lot of artistes are set to mount the stage.

According to the Chairman, Organising Committee, Mr. Clement Ige, up to 50 artistes have indicated their intention to perform.

Among them are President of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, Dele Abiodun; Kollington Ayinla, Abass Akande Obesere, Saheed Osupa, Alabi Pasuma, Ayo Balogun, Timi Osukoya, Bola Are, Dbanj, 9ice and Tony Tetuila.
