As Nigeria's Golden Jubilee Anniversary draws nearer, the battle for the most influential entertainment personalities in Nigeria since independence has become tougher with fans and supporters of each contender trying to outdo the other in order to clinch the prizes for their preferred celebrities.

In the online poll , Genevieve Nnaji scored the highest votes in the Most Influential Person in Movies category while Omotola, RMD and the legendary Hubert Ogunde come behind. Fela Anikulapo-Kuti took the lead as The Most Influential Personality in Nigerian Music since independence with Tuface, D'banj, P square and Art Alade (snr) trailing behind. Jayjay Okocha has a clear lead over Kanu, Rashidi and Mary Onyali in the Most Influential Person in Sports category.

In the Most Influential Personality in Comedy category, Nkem Owoh (Osuofia) takes the lead while other top contenders like Basketmouth and Ali Baba follow closely . Joke Silva leads in the Most Influential Personality in Television category and Superstory producer, Wale Adenuga is second . Funmi Iyanda, Amaka Igwe and Frank Edoho are other leaders in the category.

For the Most Influential Personality in Theatre category, Prof Wole Soyinka takes a clear lead ahead of Joke Silva, Olu Jacob, and Ola Rotimi. Top contenders in the Most Influential Person in Radio Entertainment category are Dan Foster , Yaw ,Dayo Adeneye and Bisi Olatilo. Other top contenders in the online polls are Ben Bruce, Nduka Obaigbena, Wale Adenuga, MTN, Glo, OJ productions, Kennis, Obaino, Coca cola and Nigerian Breweries.

The Golden Jubilee of Entertainment Awards is part of the Stingomania sponsored Golden Jubilee project. The Golden Jubilee Project is a 3-event project which seeks to recognise, honour and celebrate hundred most influential people in entertainment since independence.
