The American Film Awards is an annual American TV Show that celebrates the best around the world, from Nollywood, Bollywood and Hollywood. The brand was created 16 years ago, in Hollywood by Executive Producer Dr. Frank Ezenekwe. The platform includes the Dream Academy, streaming service Shaka, and Previews Magazine with awards categories which includes Best Action Film, Best Romantic Film, Best Actor, Best Actrees, Best Nollywood Film, Best Asian Film etc.

Frank Ezenekwe, the founder of the awards expressed that, “For the last 17 years we have nursed and served the idea of celebrating the best films of the year. Some years bring really cool films, sometimes it’s political and some years filmmakers get blacklisted and turned away from red carpets. We always get excited when a new good film is released, the lights go down, the previews, the smell of freshly roasted popcorn. We do this for the pure love of cinema, giving the spotlight to your films and celebrating them with the fans who share the love of the experience.”

Ezenekwe is a British-American Designer, Actor, Writer and Director and recipient of President's Gold Award for Design- as part of the Prince of Wales Trust. He earned a BA Honors degree in Design from University of Wolverhampton, England, and an MBA in Management And Strategy.

He wrote, produced and directed the feature films Brownskin, The Gates of New York, Snowflake & Hustle and Looking for Marvin. As an actor he's been featured on CSI New York, CBS's Undercovers No Ordinary Family, Parenthood, Hung, Lord of The Rings Online, Herokin and Cinema Verite starring James Gandolfini from Soprano's, Diane Lane and Tim Robbins. He owns the U.S Trademark to the American Film Awards® and serves as the Executive Producer alongside his wife, Dr Apostle Ijeoma Ezenekwe, founder of Allstars International Church.

This year’s edition of the award is set to hold on Saturday 23rd of September at Los Angeles, USA and promises a more relaxing and intimate presentation. There would be a feature of some films, talent review, showcases and studio buyers and filmmakers who want to distribute their films in Hollywood.
