ONI URGES COOPERATION AMONG SECURITY AGENCIES

Ekiti State Governor, Engr Segun Oni has called for greater
cooperation between the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps
(NS&CDC) and other security agencies in the state in a bid to further
bring the level of crime down.

Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Mr. Wale Ojo-Lanre, said
in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti yesterday that Governor Oni, who
made the call while playing host to the new State Commander of the
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mr. Etim Abasi in Ado-Ekiti,
said there was need for security agencies to share information on
intelligence and security matters in order to be able to efficiently
perform their statutory roles of crime detection and prevention.

While recalling that the state government had enjoyed a cordial
working relationship with the State Command of NS&CDC, he called on
the new State Commander to build on the successes recorded by his
successor.

Governor Oni, who stressed that the state had one of the least crime
rates in the country said all hands must be on deck to further bring
the crime rate down


Earlier, the State Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil
Defence Corps , Mr Etim Abasi who described the Corps as the security
agency that was closest to the people pledged the loyalty of
officers and men of the corps to the Oni-administration.


He solicited the support of the state government for NS&CDC in the
areas of logistics and office accommodation.
