Delta Confirms 5 More Commissioners

The Delta House of Assembly Tuesday screened and confirmed the nomination of five additional commissioners sent to the House by state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.

They are: Mr. Peter Mrakpor, Dr Nicholas Azinge, Mr. Ernest Ogwezzy, Mr. Bright Edejewhro and Mr. Oghenekaro Ilolo.

With Tuesday's screening and confirmation, the state now has 20 commissioners.

Also on Tuesday, the Assembly screened and confirmed the appointment of Mr. Frank Enekorogha as the Director-General, State Direct Labour Agency (DLA).

Others screened and confirmed as directors of the agency are Mr. Smert Meka, Mr. Blessing Enamuotor and Mr Austin Bebteidor.

The motion for the confirmation of the nominees was moved by the Majority Leader, Mr. Tim Owhefere and seconded by Mr. Daniel Yingi, representing Burutu 1 constituency.

The controversial speaker of the House, Monday Igbuya presided over the plenary.
