Ex-Imo governor, Ohakim in EFCC net over corruption charges

By The Citizen

A former Imo State governor, Ihedi Ohakim, was on Thursday arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren,  who confirmed that Ohakim is in their custody said that he was being interogated for alleged corruption and other related offences.

Ohakim, who was scheduled to visit the EFCC office in Abuja on Wednesday, had shunned the invitation, prompting the commission to pick him up to clarify and answer questions on an ongoing investigation into allegations of corruption and embezzlement by his government.
