INEC Declares Okorocha, Ikpeazu Winners Of Imo, Abia Governorship Elections

BEVERLY HILLS, April 26, (THEWILL) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared incumbent Governor of Imo State and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, the winner of the Imo State Governorship election.

Okorocha defeated Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate following the supplementary election conducted on Saturday.

Okorocha polled 416,996 votes as against Ihedioha's 320,705 votes.

In a similar election conducted Saturday, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was declared winner by INEC having polled 264,713 votes ahead of Dr Alex Otti, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) who got 180,882 votes.
